April 17th, 2025 on Sproul

On April 17, nearly 450 students, faculty, and allies packed Sproul Plaza for the @aaupnational National Day of Action for Higher Education. United under the Rise Up for Education Rally, they protested funding cuts, speech restrictions, and visa rollbacks under the Trump Administration.

Organizers from @sfl.berkeley and @freedom2learn_ delivered powerful messages, making it clear that Berkeley won’t stay silent.

A PSA focused on the stigma surrounding eating disorders. Commonly said phrases around a middle school lunch table show how much simple comments can affect a young child. It uses stop motion to engage viewers and offer a contrast when consuming statistics. This assignment encouraged major patience, especially when concerning the stop motion aspects.

Fueling the Flames

A PSA about the commonality of using trigger words in everyday language, and the problematic effects of that. The normalization of phrases that overlook mental health conditions such as bipolar disorder, depression, and suicidal ideation.

Idle Less, Love More

A PSA to those who drive their children to raise awareness on the detrimental health and environmental effects of idling. Made using a combination of traditional filming techniques and stop motion animation for Earth Week 2024.

Give Kids a Chance

A PSA focused on kids' limited access to combination therapy, the most effective form of treatment, upon a second pediatric cancer diagnosis.

Consider the Consequenses

A PSA focused on the issues of purchasing out-of-season food and its toll on our environment. Consider the Consequences uses the image of an avocado to portray this message. This film also offers how you can help and find local foods near you.

Jane

     A Video Essay on Jane directed by Brett Morgen. This assignment challenged both scriptwriting and editing skills, as it explored categories of cinematography, editing, and point of view in the acclaimed film about Renowned Anthropologist Jane Goodall. I engaged my creative side, with the ability to manipulate the film using the best fitting clips, also ensuring the product was visually appealing.

Honeyland

A video essay on Honeyland directed by Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov featuring an analysis of the style & mode, point of view, and cinematography in the piece. It focuses on the lifestyle of a North Macedonian woman, Hatidže Maratova. The film details her daily practice of traditional beekeeping in the countryside and growing conflict with her success-hungry neighbors.
